Kate designed the poster for our very many events which will take
place on International Women’s Day.
Kate says – ‘I love to make things. I have carved giant feathers out of
snow, made huge buildings from leafy trees, and built sofas out of growing
grass. I'm
excited by working with all sorts of people, from babies to the elderly, and believe creativity is amazing way to bring people together, inspire confidence, learn about the world, celebrate, explore, and have a great deal of fun. I run all sorts of creative projects in schools, galleries, for festivals and community groups in Norfolk and further afield, and
have recently started a project for the London College of Fashion working
with residents in care homes exploring their thoughts and stories about the beauty of age. If you'd like to see pictures of some of my projects,
have a look at www.katemunro.co.uk.'
Emily graduated from the Norwich School of Art and Design with a Masters in Fine Art, since when her work has been exhibited widely in galleries in Manchester, London, Japan, Norwich, Leeds and Brussels.
The three small drawings which Emily will be showing in our exhibition are made with recycled engine oil on watercolour paper and are part of a series of work based on a project she did with the novelist and psychogeographer Iain Sinclair about East London. More information about her work can be found at www.emilycole.co.uk
