Our anthology launch readers



Words And Women’s first anthology of writing will be launched at our International Women’s Day event on the 8th March at The Lounge, St Benedicts Street, Norwich, between 4pm – 6pm.

Our wonderful readers at this event will be the first prize winner of our prose competition Dani Redd, along with Anni Domingo, Lily Meyer, Kim Sherwood, and Lois Williams. All will be reading extracts from work included in the anthology. Copies of the anthology will also be on sale.

Do come along and support the event and listen to the talent we have in this region.

In the meantime don’t forget that Words And Women will launch its first in a series of Twitter interviews called #ask with women writers living and working in the East of England tomorrow,  Thursday 27th  February, and our first guest will be writer and actress Anni Domingo.

Finally Margaret Atwood, currently UEA’s 3rd UNESCO Visiting Professor for Creative Writing,  will be talking about her work at the University of East Anglia  this evening. For those of you who haven’t been lucky enough to get a ticket for the event then why not click here to read this wonderful piece On Being A ‘Woman Writer’ by Margaret Atwood which first appeared in ‘Women In The Canadian Mosaic’ in 1976.

Ask Anni!


Words And Women will launch its first in a series of Twitter interviews called #ask, with women writers living and working in the East of England, next week.

Our first guest will be writer and actress Anni Domingo.

Anni lives out in the Fens, and has worked extensively in the UK and abroad in theatre, radio, TV and films. She teaches English, Drama and Creative Writing and works regularly as a director. Anni runs her own company ‘Shakespeare Link’, taking Shakespeare workshops to schools and colleges. She has written several workbooks on Shakespeare, now used in many schools. Her poem Empty Cradle is published in the anthology Secret and Silent Tears; and she’s  currently writing a novel called Breaking The Maafa Chain. Anni’s memoir Empire Girl  is included in Words And Women’s inaugural anthology, published by Unthank Books and available to order from their website shortly.

Space



Words And Women’s first short film – Space – will be launched at our International Women’s Day event on the 8th March at The Lounge, St Benedicts Street, Norwich, between 4pm – 6pm.
